I began my career in travel after leaving college in 1983, where I studied Travel & Tourism. I have been very fortunate and have travelled to some exciting destinations, with Singapore and Canada being top of the list. Working for an independent travel agency means I am given the opportunity to work with many different operators, which enables me to offer a wider choice of holidays to customers. I love a challenge and one of my favourites is helping discerning customers put together a bespoke holiday. My own ideal holiday is taking in the sights and sounds of the destination, experiencing local culture and, where possible, combined with a few days relaxing by the beach.
I have been fortunate to have enjoyed several holidays in Limassol, which is ranked at number 3 of ‘destinations on the rise’ according to Trip Advisor. It has a wonderful new marina, with great restaurants and shops, not far from the castle and old town.
I love the relaxed atmosphere of the Greek Islands, especially Kefalonia. I’ve enjoyed two holidays there, staying in a different resort each time. Argostoli, the capital of the island, has a great central square where locals and tourists meet up in the evening, while Lassi is great for the beaches and nightlife.
Kalkan is a mix of traditional and tourist, with the emphasis on traditional. There are wonderful rooftop restaurants with views over the bay. The resort has not yet been overrun with the big all inclusive hotels. There is a small local beach, but a short dolmus ride takes you to the main beach area just outside of town.
Another favourite of mine, a clean and cultured city where you can be down on Clarkes Quay in the city one moment and out relaxing on the beach of Sentosa the next. Singapore has something for everyone.
I am passionate about cruising and my extensive knowledge ensures customers receive the best advice when booking their cruise holidays.
A huge fan of city breaks, having visited Barcelona, Rome, Venice and Krakow, to name a few. Krakow is definitely top of my list as it's a fantastic destination for walking around, with a great choice of places to shop and eat as well as the traditional sightseeing.
